"Franco P. Foraboschi" Library - General information

The Library “Franco P. Foraboschi” originated from the libraries of the DICASM and DICMA Departments, both merged into the DICAM Department, respectively in 2010 and 2012.

Bibliographic heritage

The bibliographic material of the library consists of over 10,800 monographs and 537 periodicals, 16 of which are current. This bibliographic material is used to support the research and teaching activities of the Department, mainly with reference to the following subjects: General Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science and Technology, Industrial and Environmental Biotechnologies, Chemical Thermodynamics, Transport Phenomena, Unit Operations in Process Industry, Chemical Processes, Techniques and Technologies in Environmental Protection, Wastes Management, Industrial Safety, Geohydrology, Oil Reservoirs Engineering, Mining Engineering.


At the Via Terracini site, the Engineering Library “Gian Paolo Dore” collaborates with the DICAM Department, to grant basis and advanced bibliographic services: opening of the library, on-site reading, loan, reference, searching of on-line bibliographic resources. It also takes care of the acquisition of the books indicated as relevant for the courses whose lessons are held in this site.

Please note that all activities related to loan services (registration of new users, loans, returns and renewals) and the circulation of materials held in storage end at 5.30 pm (GMT+1) from Monday to Thursday, and at 1.15 pm (GMT+1) on Friday. After this time the library is available exclusively as a reading room, until closing time.
